Steered by distinguished Afghan medical practitioners, institutional governance specialists, and public health strategists committed to ethical humanitarian action.
Dr. Mohammad Nazir "Rasuli" is the visionary leader and driving force behind the Organization for People's Health in Action (OPHA). With decades of dedicated service in Afghanistan's public healthcare sector, Dr. Rasuli has committed his professional career to improving the health outcomes and living conditions of vulnerable, isolated Afghan communities.
Born and raised in Afghanistan, Dr. Rasuli earned his medical degree and specialized credentials in healthcare management and public health administration. He has spearheaded complex emergency medical missions, managed hospital service delivery packages under the Ministry of Public Health, and coordinated with international humanitarian partners including UNICEF, WHO, and UN OCHA / AHF.
Under his steadfast leadership since OPHA's founding in October 2017, the organization has expanded from a nascent national initiative into a premier health and emergency response agency delivering static clinic operations, mobile health units, and clean water systems in provinces including Nooristan, Faryab, Laghman, and Nangarhar.
Dr. Rasuli is an active contributor to national health policy dialogues, advocating tirelessly for female medical practitioner empowerment, dignified maternal survival, and equitable access to pharmaceuticals for remote mountain communities.
The Board of Management provides fiduciary oversight, ethical guidance, policy formulation, and institutional accountability for all OPHA activities.
